TLT: A sustainable workspace at Eden aligned with values and future growth

When TLT moved its office to Eden Manchester, the decision reflected a desire to find a workplace that aligned with the firm’s values, supported collaboration, and offered an environment that appealed to both colleagues and clients.

TLT is a full-service commercial law firm with offices across the UK, advising clients across sectors including clean energy, real estate, technology and artificial intelligence, financial services and the public sector. Sustainability and responsible business has long shaped how the firm operates day to day.

As one of the first occupiers to move into Eden, TLT has been part of the building’s story from the outset. More than a year on, the move has marked a significant step in the firm’s presence in the North of England.

A values-led decision rooted in sustainability

TLT wanted more than just high-quality office space in Manchester. Eden stood out to the firm as one of the UK’s most cutting-edge office buildings, with sustainability embedded into its design, operation and identity.

Eden aligned closely with TLT’s own values around sustainability and collaboration. As a firm with a strong focus on environmental responsibility, the move to an eco-friendly office was also a clear signal to clients, colleagues and the wider market.

Perhaps the most visible symbol of this commitment is Eden’s landmark living wall. Beyond its visual impact, it supports biodiversity, improves air quality and gives the building a distinctive identity within the city. It also plays a meaningful role in supporting the firm’s journey towards its net zero ambitions, reinforcing Eden’s position as a truly green office space.

Eden has sustainability at its heart and that is absolutely critical for us. It manifests itself directly in our values around sustainability and collaboration. The building itself - and particularly the living wall - was a huge selling point in terms of our net zero targets for 2040.”

Designed for collaboration, connection and wellbeing

Beyond sustainability, the way Eden is set up has a direct impact on how TLT operates day to day. The building’s open, collaborative design supports modern ways of working and reflects the firm’s people-first culture. From informal breakout spaces to the Spice & Grind coffee shop on the ground floor, the environment actively encourages interaction between teams, clients and the wider Eden community.

TLT’s own space on the 11th floor includes a dedicated collaboration area that has become a focal point for both internal working and client engagement. This space enables teams to come together easily, facilitates integrated working with clients and creates an environment that feels welcoming.

Wellbeing has also been a major focus. TLT’s space offers a dedicated wellbeing room and prayer room, as well as generous kitchen/social spaces. Eden provides multiple communal spaces, these include a roof terrace and a dedicated yoga suite on the mezzanine level, which has been embraced by TLT colleagues as a way to unwind, connect and look after their physical and mental health. Biophilic design principles are embedded throughout Eden, from planting and natural materials to daylight and views across the city.

A space clients genuinely want to visit

Since moving to Eden, feedback from clients has been consistently positive. Clients have not only enjoyed visiting the space but have actively chosen to use it as a hub, bringing teams together from across the North of England to collaborate in person. The quality of the environment plays a huge role in this, Eden feels purposeful and engaging.

Views across the city from the upper floors, combined with shared amenities such as the ground-floor coffee shop, add to the overall experience and make the office somewhere clients are comfortable spending time.

A strategic location in a thriving business district

Eden’s location within Salford’s New Bailey development has also proved to be a significant advantage. Just a short walk from Manchester city centre, the building benefits from strong transport connections and sits within a business district that continues to grow.

While some businesses may initially be cautious about choosing office space in Salford, TLT’s experience has been overwhelmingly positive. New Bailey has quickly established itself as a central, well-connected location, with increasing footfall and a growing mix of occupiers.

A statement of intent for the future

Eden has been far more than a change of address for TLT. It has provided a workplace that supports collaboration, reflects the firm’s values and offers an environment people want to work in and visit.

More than a year on, Eden continues to support how TLT works today, while providing a strong base for the firm’s future in Manchester and the wider region.
